Original, hand colored lithograph. A Very Good print. Small folio; image size: 8" x 12 5/8", overall size: 12 1/2" x 15 7/8". Moderate age-toning to the paper. Three lines of text below the image. Framed in early 20th century wood frame, covered in gilt paster moulding; with glaze. Old Chicago Art gallery label on the reverse. A Very Good lithograph. *** This lithograph shows Chicago, seen in a bird's-eye view, burning, with the lake and ships in the fore. The Great Chicago Fire started on October 10, 1871. This print was done by C&I very shortly after. ** Note: This image conforms to CONNINGHAM (Currier & Ives Prints, 1949, Crown Pub.) C:738. Not examined out of frame.
