It is assumed that she wrote this delightful children's story based on the Victorian ivory pig figurine, perhaps an item from her own childhood. The Ivory figure matches exactly the pig on the cover and drawings in the text. In fact, Lazy the pig is sold at auction in the story, and is owned by a little girl "on the other side of the world" Good. Item #003263

The Ivory pig figurine has some minor discoloration and cracking near his hind quarters. A Very Good ivory figure with Good or better book.
