With every good wish from his "old man"- Bob May". ***John Derr was a CBS radio sports and television reporter, who covered the Masters Tournament 62 times, starting in 1935, and received Augusta National Golf Club's Masters Achievement Award in 2007. Derr is also an author, with 3 books published. Robert May (1905-76) created Rudolph, the children's classic, in 1939 for Montgomery Ward, and was awarded the copyright in 1946 from M. Ward. In 1946, May's brother in law, Johnny Marks, wrote a musical adaption, eventually sung by Gene Autrey, which went on to sell the second most Christmas song recordings, second only to White Christmas.
